”In our modern time and age we overload our bodies simply because we don’t get enough physical exercise,” says our Personal Trainer Mikael Steinhausen.
Mikael Steinhausen has a background as a gymnast and has practiced kick-boxing at competition level for years. He has practiced hatha yoga and has always made sure to exercise his body and take inspiration from different training systems; systems which he combines when he teaches. He was so impressed by a Body-sds-session that he chose to complete the three year therapist training and one of his specialties as an Instructor, Movement & Mobility, is partially inspired by Body-sds qufei.
“Movement & Mobility is fundamental training, where we aim to strengthen and center our joints while increasing their flexibility. The training system has been developed to increase our body awareness; you can call it body therapy in movement, where you yourself work with your body,” he explains about his Movement & Mobility classes.
He smiles,” Even if it sounds self-contradictory, you become more grounded while feeling more light… “.
”The Body is Rebuilt instead of Broken Down”
A class in Movement & Mobility begins with “the seven phases”, which warm up all the joints – from your big toe to your cervical vertebrae. Then the Instructor moves on to the “the playful exercises”, which strengthen your motor skills, and “US exercises”, which are somewhat similar to yoga poses.
The training can have a therapeutic and releasing effect as well as create balance in your body and mind: it strengthens the foundation of your body, which means that you will make progress in your physical training, whether you exercise for fun and relaxation or you are a professional athlete.
Mikael Steinhausen says about Movement & Mobility that ”the training is created in order to maintain human beings in our time and age.”
He elaborates: “Movement & Mobility is for everybody – old and young, women and men – who want to achieve better body awareness as well as physical and mental balance. The body is rebuilt instead of broken down and you will have more spring in your step… “.
